Bedroom, Bed in The Percy Arms
On arrival, we were greeted by one of the team. They could not have been more welcoming and inviting us to have a drink before we went up to our room. The room (no4 Ndlov) was so full of character and really spacious. There was a separate walk in shower, along with separate wc and sink within the room but the main feature was the freestanding bath in the bedroom. We loved it. The room was warm and really comfortable, with a large screen TV too, for when we wanted to chill and watch some telly!! The bed was huge and really comfortable. We have had reason to be in Guildford 4 times in the last few years and are gutted that we did not discover The Percy Arms sooner, as it would have been our "go to" place, well ahead of the "branded hotel chains" in Guildford itself. The pub element of the hotel is also really warm and welcoming, the staff incredibly helpful. We ate in the hotel, it was Steak night, and the food was exceptional. There is a wide variety of food, with a South African influence and I could not fault anything at all. The quality and value for money of the dining side of our evening was fantastic. When it comes to breakfast, we had sufficient choice. For those enjoying a "full English" type of breakfast, whilst it was not what we like to eate, what we could see served to other guests, looked amazing and they all commented positively on it. We enjoyed our breakfast, having chosen different things off the menu and cannot fault the service or quality at all. We got to speak with the owner before we left and I am so pleased we got to understand his roots and background more, which explains the South African influence and we found his experiences and passions really reflected in The Percy Arms. For us the location was ideal and for those who find this venue as a choice for visiting Guildford or the surrounding Surrey hills, please pay The Percy Arms a visit, you will not be disappointed.

Nice big room, very comfortable. The pub/restaurant was vibrant. A really good atmosphere. The food was FANTASTIC! I’m knocking on a bit now and I’ve probably had thousands of pies over the years. The steak pie here was the best I’ve ever had. The sticky toffee pudding was superb too. My wife loved her (slightly healthier) meal as well. Having said all that, some of the steaks being served to other guests looked amazing - maybe next time if I can resist the pie..l Had a chat with the owner - lovely bloke - deserves the success the business clearly is judging by the throngs of customers.

Although we didn't use them, very good selection of tea/coffee and bottled water provided. Very comfortable bed. On site restaurant was very impressive - good selection, with specials on offer too, very generous portion sizes and very reasonably priced. Breakfast was included in the bedroom price and again good selection of options. Toiletries were luxurious and shower pressure and temperature were also great.

Our room for two nights was the luxury double room Ensuite was clean and very comfortable We had two mornings of delicious breakfasts first day we had full English breakfast with tea/coffee. The last morning we had scrambled egg with bacon tea/coffee. Large car park at side of pub. We enjoyed our stay and would return Would recommend 100%

Room was lovely with lots of nice touches like the folded bath mat and cotton wool in a jar in the bathroom. The staff were helpful and organised for me to leave my bag in a safe place even though I left fairly early. I didn't eat there but the food and atmosphere in the pub looked great. Great location as I needed to be up early to get to St Martha's Hill and this was right next to the train station. Pretty village surrounded by countryside and yet close to Guildford.
